Hungarian TEÁOR code finder — in your own words.

TEÁOR search
It finds the official TEÁOR code from an everyday description.

How the TEÁOR finder works

  1. You describe what you do.No need for the formal terms — plain words are enough: “opening a café”, “launching a webshop”, “consulting”.
  2. Instant results. As you type, the most fitting TEÁOR'25 codes appear — code, title and a short explanation, with permit- and notification-bound activities flagged separately.
  3. ZentyAI for the harder cases. Where the wording is less obvious, the ZentyAI semantic search matches by meaning — the same engine Zenty uses inside the formation flow.

What a TEÁOR code is

TEÁOR is the Hungarian classification of economic activities — the national implementation of the European NACE classification, maintained by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH). The version in force is TEÁOR'25, applicable from 2025. Each activity is a four-digit dotted code (for example 62.01 — Computer programming) recorded in the articles of association and the company registry, and reported to the tax authority (NAV) and the KSH.

Main activity and further activities

A Hungarian Kft declares exactly one main activity — the economic centre of gravity of the company — and any number of further activities alongside it. The main activity matters for statistical purposes and for some sector-specific rules, so it is worth choosing precisely. In the finder, the first code becomes the main activity and the rest are added as further activities during formation.

Permit- and notification-bound activities

Not every activity can be started freely. Some are permit-bound (engedélyköteles) — an operating or regulatory permit is needed before they begin — and others are notification-bound (bejelentésköteles), carrying a duty to notify the authority in advance. The finder flags both, so you see in good time when a code carries a separate obligation. The flag is indicative; the concrete steps are reviewed with the countersigning attorney during formation.

What this finder does not do

The finder locatesthe codes that fit your activity, but it does not decide for you exactly which belong to your company's real operation — the final selection is recorded in the articles of association with the countersigning attorney at formation. It is not a registration, and it does not replace the official KSH list, which the Central Statistical Office publishes in full.

Where the data comes from

Results are built on the KSH TEÁOR'25 classification, with a Zenty search layer on top so an everyday description still reaches the official code. The official source is KSH — TEÁOR.

What is a TEÁOR code?
TEÁOR is the Hungarian classification of economic activities — the national implementation of the EU's NACE classification, maintained by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH). The version in force is TEÁOR'25, applicable from 2025. Every company declares its activities with four-digit dotted codes (for example 62.01 — Computer programming), which are recorded in the articles of association and the company registry.
Do I need to know the exact code before I start?
No. Describe what your company does in everyday language — "opening a café", "launching a webshop", "consulting" — and the finder shows the matching codes. The ZentyAI semantic pass also matches by meaning, not just keywords. The final selection is confirmed with the countersigning attorney during formation.
What is the difference between the main activity and further activities?
A Hungarian Kft declares exactly one main activity (főtevékenység) — the economic centre of gravity of the company — plus any number of further activities. The main activity matters for statistical purposes and for some sector-specific rules, so it is worth choosing precisely. In the finder, the first code becomes the main activity.
What do the permit and notification flags mean?
Some activities cannot be started freely. A permit-bound (engedélyköteles) activity needs an operating or regulatory permit before it begins; a notification-bound (bejelentésköteles) activity carries a duty to notify the authority beforehand. The finder flags both. The flag is indicative — the concrete steps are reviewed with the countersigning attorney during formation.
Does choosing a code here register anything?
No. The finder only helps you locate codes. The activities are entered into the company registry at the end of the formation process, when the partner law firm files the articles with the registry court. This page does not form a company and does not register an activity.
